With admiration and joy Narayanganj celebrated Victory Day

As soon as sunrise on the Chashara Bijoy Stambo, the day-long victory celebration began with 50 rounds of artillery paying homage to the martyrs. At the Bijoy Stambo with flowers, Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj Mostain Billah was the first to pay homage to the martyrs. And then, the police force of the administration, government,semi government,non-government organizations,political,cultural and social organizations paid homage to the martyrs with due respect by giving flowers.

This is main city centre point for the people where people come & celebrate victory day.

 

The various government institutions of the district and the main roads of the city are decorated with various colourful lighting. As part of the Victory Day program, a parade was held at the Osmani Municipal Stadium in Isdai under the supervision of the district administration. At the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the martyred freedom fighters families and the wounded were given a reception. Religious institutions such as mosques, temples, churches, special prayers are organized for the peace and prosperity of the country and so the nation. In the afternoon, the swearing ceremony by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of the Government of Bangladesh was a national event on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence which broadcasted live from the Osmani Municipal Stadium by Bangladesh Television.

 

A K M Shamim Osman, MP of local constituencies – 4 was present on the occasion along with the public and school students. After all, like other upazilas of the country, Rupganj Upazila also celebrated its grand parades and displays.

 

It is to be mentioned that before midnight on 15th December,young men – women,middle-aged,municipal with Their family started coming to the center of the district town in groups,ignoring the winter from different mahallas and areas of the city. As a result, on 16th December, the Shaheed Minar became a gathering place for people from all walks of life to celebrate the victory.
