After long two years, Dhaka-Kolkata bus service is being resumed. Due to the global pandamic corona virus infection, direct bus service from Bangladesh to Kolkata was stopped.

At present, with the improvement of the situation, tourist visas of the two countries have been approved by only air, but the passengers have to face huge queues at the airport, waiting, air ticket price increasing etc. However, 80% of India-Bangladesh tourists prefer to come by Benapole – Petrapole port.

“If all goes well, we hope the Dhaka-Kolkata bus service will resume from the 1st June 2022” Liton Dhar, manager of the Kolkata Shyamoli Paribahan office, told reporters.

Eklavvay Chakraborty, chief public relationship officer of Indian Eastern Railway, said everyone should follow the Corona rules when traveling by land and by train.

It is to be mentioned that the bus service is expected to start again from next month with the Self-will of the Kolkata State Government because the Bangladeshi tourists are highly valued in Kolkata.
