Police rescued an unidentified woman death body (16) from the water of the lake in Purbachal Sector No. 2 in Rupganj, Narayanganj.

The body was recovered from under the lake of Purbachal 300 feet Jalsiri 4 No pillar of Bridge on Tuesday (December 17) morning. A motorcycle helmet and a small bag were recovered from the side of the body.

Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Mehedi Islam said that locals saw the woman body floating in the lake water around 8:30 am and they informed the police. The police recovered the body from the spot, completed the initial examination and sent it to the Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, the identity of the body could not be immediately ascertained. Efforts are underway to identify death body.

The recovered body has injury marks on its neck. It is initially believed that the miscreants killed him at some point during the night and dumped him in the lake. It is also said that the exact cause of death will be known only after the final autopsy report is received.
