Kolkata Correspondent: International Yoga Day is celebrated in South Kolkata in unison with the rest of the country. The theme of this day was Yoga for Humanity.
This year Nehru Youth Center and South City International School jointly organized the 8th Yoga Exercise Day at South City School with hundreds of boys and girls.
The program inaugurated a good start with the lighting of lamps and a welcome address by Antra Chakraborty, an official of Nehru Youth Center South Kolkata. on the occasion John Andrew Bagle, Headmaster of South City International School, Mausumi Das, Municipal Representative of Ward 93, Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh and Nivedita Ghosh were present.
At one stage of the program, Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh, Secretary of Asian Yoga Exercise Research Institute, taught some yoga postures to all the boys and girls and every participates in yoga got training together.
To keep the body and mind heathy and happy, all the invited guests in their speeches encouraged everyone about the benefits of infallible medicine yoga.
Priyom Singh, Preeti Singh and others performed dances through yoga along with songs. Alok Saha, a yoga instructor, explained how to maintain good body health through yoga.
Various organizations including Kalighat Milon Sangha Pradeep Pore Group, Asian Yoga Research Institute, students of APC Roy Polytechnic College were also participated in the event.
At the end of the program, testimonials were distributed among the participants and the end of the program was announced by the NCC cadets of the school through the National anthem.
