Cervical and breast cancer vaccinations for teenage girls in Vidya Niketan School

A seminar was held at Narayanganj Vidyaniketan High School to create awareness about cervical and breast cancer among adolescents and girls aged 9 to 15.

 

On Wednesday morning, a seminar was jointly organized by Lions Club and Leo Club of Narayanganj City, Alo Pathjatri and Narayanganj City Corporation. Gynecologist Dr. Zakia Parveen Lipi, Medical Officer of Narayanganj City Corporation Dr. Nafia Islam, Chairman of Alo Pathjatri, a research organization on cancer in adolescent girls, Dr. Sadia Afroz Mukti, Managing Director of Allied Hospital Dr. Badruddoza and Headmaster Uttam Kumar Saha discussed cervical and breast cancer.

 

Senior Vice Chairman of Vidyaniketan Trust Abdus Salam, member of the Board of Directors of Vidyaniketan High School Moazzem Hossain Sohel, Secretary of Lions Club of Narayanganj City Lion Millat Hossain, Vice President Engineer Nizam Uddin Ahmed were present at the program.

 

The speakers at the seminar said that in our country, teenage girls are not aware of the cervix during puberty. Therefore, they called on mothers to be aware of the cervix and breast cancer of teenagers and said that mothers should be made aware of the puberty and physical changes of their daughters.

 

Later, the City Corporation provided vaccines to prevent cervical cancer to girls aged 9 to 11.
