Illegal lime factory’s gas connection disconnected in Fatulla

Titas ( Gas Transmission & Distribution Company) Fatulla branch authorities have conducted a mobile court against illegal gas connections in Fatulla.

 

In this drive conducted throughout the day on Thursday (December 05), the authorities concerned demolished the kiln of a lime factory due to illegal gas connection, including the illegal gas connection of a house in the area adjacent to the Kutubpur Pagla Taltola Madrasa under the Fatulla area.

 

The mobile court was conducted under the leadership of Senior Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the District Administration Md. Monabbor Hossain.

 

In this regard, the Managing Engineer of JOBIA Fatulla, Md. Mashiur Rahman said, an illegal lime factory was found during the drive. Where they were operating the factory with illegal gas connections. Before,We had wanted to conduct a drive in this factory earlier. But due to the obstacles of the local people, we could not conduct the drive. Today, we are conducting a drive here in cooperation with the police and administration.

 

He said, as far as we know, the factory is very harmful to the environment.
Currently, No lime factory is approved by the government. We have got an illegal gas connection in this factory. Every month They have illegally consumed about 7 lakh taka of gas which amounts to about a crore taka per year.

 

Today, as illegal gas is found to be used through 6 of the factory’s inspirator burners, the connection is cut off in the presence of the executive magistrate and the factory’s kiln is demolished. I hope they will no longer be able to use gas illegally and operate the illegal factory.

 

In response to a question from reporters, “Has anyone been arrested or fined ?” he said, When we started conducting the drive, everyone fled through a small gate behind the factory. So far, no one has been found who owns or manages the factory.

 

As a result, it has not been possible to fine them. However, one laborer was arrested. He was later released on bond. The connection was cut off after illegal gas was found in 8 double burners in a house next to the factory. 6 inspirator burners along with 2” dia 80 feet pipes were seized from the raid site.

 

At the raid, there were preasent JOBIA Narayanganj Managing Engineer Mostaq Masud Md. Imran, ESS Branch Managing Engineer Syed Md. Abu Sufian, Metering and Vigilance Branch Managing Engineer Taifur Rahman and other officers and employees of ABIB-Narayanganj head regional Office.
