Four People Sentenced to death for Jayanta Murder Case

The District court sentenced four people to death in the case of killing a 10-year-old child in Rupganj, Narayanganj. Today, Tuesday 5 March 2024 at noon, Additional District and Sessions Judge Court Judge Umme Saraban Tahura announced this verdict.
While the verdict was pronounced, one of the accused in the case was present and the other three were absconding.
The convicts are Shahin of Mongalkhali area of   Rupganj, Alamgir of Balai Nagar area, Anik Chandra Das and Ashiq Chandra Das of Baniyadi area.
According to the police, on June 5, 2018, 10-year-old boy Jayant Chandra Das went missing from his house in Baniadi Rishipara area of   Rupganj. The next day, the accused men called and demand five lakh taka as ransom to return the child to the family. After two days the victim (Jayant) disappearance, Police rescued the child’s body from an abandoned house in Rishipara area with his hands and feet tied.
In this incident, the child’s father filed a murder case against 5 people at Rupganj police station. After 12 people was taken the testimony in the case, the court ordered the death penalty to four accused in that case.
