Police have arrested Zubair Ahmed (24), the son of the landlord, on charges of raping an 18-year-old tenant girl in Dakshin Sastapur, Fatullah, Narayanganj. He was arrested with the help of the Special Response Battalion (SRB) on Monday night.

The arrested Zubair is the son of Lokman Sikder of Dakshin Sastapur area. Fatullah Model Police said that preparations are underway to file a case in this incident.

Fatullah Model Police Inspector (Investigation) Anwar Hossain said that the girl lived in the Zubairs’ house with her husband. Her husband works in a garment factory.

According to the police, the girl’s husband was at work around 5:30 pm on Monday. At that time, no other family members were at the house except Zubair. Taking advantage of the empty house, Zubair grabbed the girl by the face and dragged her to his room. The girl alleged that she was raped there.

Later, when the matter became known, a raid was conducted with the help of SRB around 1 am and Zubair was arrested.
