Madistar & Poly Clinic fined five lacs

Monday (April 6, 2026), a total fine of Tk 5 lakh 5 thousand was imposed in a raid on Medistar and Polyclinic against poor quality health services in Narayanganj City.

 

For irregularities such as not maintaining the price list of services properly, keeping the quality of services higher than the prescribed rate and life and health-threatening activities (not following the proper protocol) in OT and post OT rooms, lack of proper sterilization, failure to show proof of qualification of pathologists and so lab technicians and diploma nurses; insufficiency of staff, nurses according to the bed, etc., the said Medistar Hospital adjacent to the said right chamber was fined 3,00,000 (three lakhs) taka under the relevant section of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009.

 

In another operation, the said institution was fined 3,00,000 (three lakhs) taka under the relevant section of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 for irregularities such as not having a license, not maintaining the price list of services and fixing prices everywhere, conducting all pathology tests and related activities with regular staff other than lab technicians/pathologists, etc. A fine of 2,05,000 (two lakh five thousand) taka was imposed under the section.

 

Yesterday, The operation was conducted by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Md. Tariqul Islam.
